Botox (Botulinum Toxin)
Botox is the only substance approved by the FDA to be used in cosmetic medicine. This substance is applied on the nerves of the muscle to eliminate wrinkles and provide a rejuvenating effect for 6 months. It is used to prevent wrinkles from the forehead, frown lines, crow’s feet, neck, lips, cleavage, cheeks, nose and chin, it can also be used as an auxiliary treatment in excessive sweating of armpits, face, palms of hands and soles of the feet.
Botox is a purified natural protein that is extracted from botulinum toxin, which when injected on the nerve endings it acts at the neuromuscular junction avoiding the secretion of acetylcholine, responsible for activating muscle contraction.

Duration of Therapy:
20 minutes and it is recommended to be applied every 6 months or once a year, the effects of the substance begin to show the fourth of tenth day after the application.
It should not be used in patients that are allergic or pregnant.
