What is PRP or Enriched Plasma for Hair Loss?
It is the “biostimulation with Platelet Rich Plasma”, which allows to stimulate hair growth by improving the quality of the hair, thanks to its high content in factors of platelet growth. Platelet-rich plasma is derived from human blood. It is obtained by means of a conventional blood extraction carried out on the patient and which, after an ultracentrifugation process and with the addition of specific substances, is injected directly into the area to be treated in the form of capillary mesotherapy.
Its application at the capillary level stimulates the formation of collagen elastin and hyaluronic acid also increasing vascularization at the level of the hair follicle so it is indicated to stop hair loss and enhance regeneration in patients with moderate hair loss.
As platelet-rich plasma is derived from the patient’s own blood there is no risk of rejection or allergic reactions. According to some studies, the use of PRP in the treatment of hair loss seems able to stimulate cells responsible for hair growth and reverse the process of hair miniaturization in the areas where it is applied. As a result we can see, stronger and thicker hair.
It requires 3 separate initial sessions each for a month apart. Then a session every 6 months if the patient wishes The results begin to be seen after the fourth month of treatment.
