How is Ultrasonic Liposuction performed?
Ultrasonic Liposuction complements tumescent liposuction. With the tumescent technique, large volumes of saline (serum), local anesthesia and adrenaline are injected into the area to be treated. This allows liposuction to be done superficially, under the skin. Ultrasonic Liposuction employs high sound frequencies that allow liquefying or dissolving fat tissue. Ultrasonic energy acts primarily on fat without causing damage to vessels, arteries and nerves. With Ultrasonic Liposuction we can get better results, remove fibrotic tissue and extract more fat.
What areas can be treated?
The most frequent areas treated with LU in men are the waist, abdomen, breast and dewlap. Women include chaps, thighs, back, buttocks, abdomen, legs, cheeks, chin, etc. Some women choose to inject their fat into other parts of the body using liposculpture.
Who is a candidate for an LU?
There is no ideal age to perform the procedure. Most patients have fat deposits located in different parts of the body, which correspond to 20% more of the ideal weight.
The best candidates to re-model your body are:
- Those who have a real expectation of the procedure.
- Those who are overweight from light to medium.
- Have firm, elastic skin and be in good health.
- Present localized fat in different parts of the body.
- They have already tried diets, exercise and weight loss programs without any results.
- They must understand that Liposuction is not a procedure to lose weight.
- You should not think that your lifestyle has changed dramatically.
How will my recovery be?
A stitch is placed in each of the incisions. You should wear a rubber band for a period of 4 weeks. You can go home after the procedure and rest the next 24 hours, being able to gradually recover your activity according to your tolerance. The next 2 or 3 days should not strain.
Will I need a second procedure?
Usually one procedure is enough; however some patients require a retouch in some areas. Others do not take care of their food and accumulate fat again.
How can the results obtained with the LU be valued?
Cosmetically speaking, the results obtained with the LU can be measured in cm and kilos. The weight is not always reflected in the same way as the change in the shape of the body. But the most important thing is the increased self-esteem that the patient reflects.
How will my skin look after the procedure?
The changes that are seen with a liposuction are the same that occur when you reduce weight or exercise. The use of fine cannulas favors the presence of fibrous tissue disappearing over time. When the excess skin of the abdomen is important it is recommended to combine the Ultrasonic Liposuction with the skin resection called Lipectomy, Abdominoplasty or Dermolipectomy.
Is the tissue removed permanent:
Ultrasonic Liposuction permanently removes fat cells by improving body contouring. If you gain weight after liposuction it will be stored in the fat cells that still remain in the body.
Usually the liposuction zones do not form new deposits of fat unless weight gain is important.
